Researchers tell us 9/10 of primary students now have a mobile phone. It’s a vital importance knowing that your child is even taking their phone to school. In this text, you’ll find out reasons for and against why we should/shouldn’t have a mobile phone in primary school.
For:
A reason why it would be vital is that you can keep in contact with a parent or careers so any parent can check on their child or even just to keep an eye knowing that your child is safe. Another reason is instead of wasting money on interactive boards you can message the work to your phone so you can save m0oney and keep in touch of what your doing. As well as this if you’re bored you can get company with your phone by playing games or even listening to music so you’re never bored again.
Against:
On the other hand, children will feel left out if they know that other children have more ‘updated’ phones and this makes children feel left out and unwanted. Especially if they can’t have a phone just because or wealth or simply can’t have one. As well as this texting or even playing in class which can distract children and ruin their education when they grow up. Unable to get a degree this can cause struggle for kids in future life. Another problem is that having a decent phone can cause jealousy and other problems which could ruin someone’s childhood.
In conclusion I personally believe having a phone in primary school would be vital for parents and kids. So please contact your local MP explaining to them why it’s a good idea.
